About
Lauren Amelia :)
Hey — I’m Lauren Amelia, a 24-year-old writer, poet, and podcaster who somehow turned late-night thoughts and messy healing into a space called Too Broke for Therapy.

I studied Communications in college and fell in love with the audio-visual world — the way a voice, a story, or a single honest moment can make someone feel seen. I started podcasting back in 2019, mostly for fun, and it’s been one of my favorite creative outlets ever since.

Fun fact: I was born weighing just one pound, which left me with the raspy voice I have now — the same one people always told me sounded like it belonged on a podcast. So… here we are.

Too Broke for Therapy was born during a post-grad season when I was struggling, questioning everything, and learning how to be okay with not having it all figured out. What started as an outlet has grown into a podcast, blog, and community for anyone doing their best to heal, laugh, and grow — all without breaking the bank.

Each week, I dive into the things we all face at some point — mental health, relationships, identity, and the in-between moments that make us human.

If you’re looking for honest conversations, a little laughter, and maybe a reminder that you’re not alone — you’re in the right place.
